With Ace(s) Up Sleeve, Defenders Sweep Men's Volleyball
Dordt University registered service aces on three of the first four points of the match and never looked back in defeating the Culver-Stockton men's volleyball team 25-12, 25-21, 25-18 at Charles Field House Saturday afternoon.
The early flurry of serves shocked the Wildcats, who had dropped a five-set match to Morningside Friday night, and they never found a rhythm. The Defenders ended the match 12 with services aces overall.
A bright spot for the Wildcats came in the form of Aaron Jurenka who came entered the game at the start of the second set and led the hosts with 12 kills. Jurenka hit a .479 clip with three errors on his 19 attempts.
Logan Chase also turned in a fine performance for the Wildcats. Chase, who also didn'tt play in the opening set, finished with six terminations and two errors on 10 attempts for an attack percentage of .400.
The Wildcats (1-21, 0-12) begins three-game road trip Tuesday, March 25, at Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
