Netters Start Slow, End Fast in Four Set Victory over Peru State
It took the Culver-Stockton women's volleyball team a set to get warmed up before racing past Peru State College in four sets Friday night to end an eight match conference losing streak with a 13-25, 25-15, 25-18, 25-15 victory in Peru, Neb.
The victory was the first of any kind since a straight set victory over Hannibal-LaGrange (Mo.) on Oct. 11. It is the first victory in the Heart of America Athletic Conference victory since the Wildcats won at Clarke (Iowa) on Sept. 20. C-SC is 8-20 overall and 3-13 in the league.
Emma Daleen led the way with 12 kills on 31 attempts and just one error for a .355 attack percentage. Victoria Pollard had seven kills and a .190 attack percentage, while Zoe Irvin had seven terminations.
Lael Temple set the tempo with 20 set assists and a team-high five service aces. Lauren Bloom added 16 set assists.
Defensively, libero Jaysie Baez totaled 25 digs in the back row. Pollard was also in double figures with 12 digs, while Daleen had five blocks at the net, including two solo stuffs.
C-SC returns home for the final three matches of the 2025 camping beginning Tuesday night, Oct. 28, with a non-conference match against Health Sciences and Pharmacy at Charles Field House. First serve is slated for 5 p.m.
