Women's Soccer Limited to Three Shots in Road Loss to Clarke

The Culver-Stockton women's soccer team was held to three total shots in a 1-0 loss to Clarke University in the regular season finale Wednesday night in Dubuque, Iowa.

The Wildcats and Pride played a scoreless first half with the hosts out-shooting C-SC 9-0 in the opening 45 minutes. Wildcat goalie Sam Link helped keep Clarke off the scoreboard by making four saves in the half.

The second half was the same as the first as the Wildcats, despite registering four corner kicks, was unable to get any shots toward the Pride goal.

Clarke, which added eight more shots in the second half for a total of 17 in the game, finally broke through in the 61st minute.

With 30 minutes left in its season, C-SC didn't record its first shot until the 85th minute when Kaydence Payne registered a shot on goal but was turned away by the Clarke goalkeeper.

C-SC got a corner kick a minute later and Rian Moore found Mikayla Gioia but her header attempt went wide.

The Wildcats nearly tied the game in the final minute when Alexa Collao picked up a loose ball and hit a strike from about 25 yards out that hit the cross bar and sailed out of play. That was the last opportunity for the Wildcats as the Pride ran out the clock.

Link finished the game with six saves in the game, facing seven total shots on goal.

The Wildcats conclude the 2025 season with a 7-9-2 overall record and a 4-8-1 mark in the Heart of America Athletic Conference.
