Saint Ambrose University notched a late goal to escape with an exciting 16-15 Heart of America Athletic Conference victory over the Culver-Stockton College women's lacrosse team Wednesday afternoon at Ellison Poulton Stadium.
The Wildcats trailed 15-12 with 10 minutes remaining before Kaelin Quarles tried to rescue them from defeat. Quarles, who holds the school record with 10 goals in a singe game, tallied three straight goals over the next seven minutes to tie the game at 15 with 3:02 to play.

The Bees successfully cleared the zone and set up in the offensive end when the Wildcats were called for a penalty. The Bees needed just nine seconds with the man advantage to put the ball in the back of the net for the one goal lead with 75 seconds left.
C-SC had one more opportunity to net the equalizer with about a minute remaining, but a turnover cost them possession and they never got it back.
