Wildcats Spread the Wealth in Non-Conference Victory over HLGU

Five players scored in double figures as the Culver-Stockton women's basketball team picked up an 86-48 non-conference victory over Hannibal-LaGrange University at Porter Gymnasium in Hannibal, Mo., Friday night.

The Wildcats led after one quarter 29-14 and increased their lead in each of the next three quarters of the game. C-SC led 42-26 at halftime and 62-37 at the end of three quarters before outscoring the hosts 24-11 in the final 10 minutes to account for the final score.

C-SC shot 52 percent from the field and was a perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line in earning their second road victory of the season. C-SC improved to 5-5 overall.

Haley Webb and Avery Oetting garnered 16 points each to lead a balanced scoring attack by the Wildcats. Chloe Burnham chipped in with 14 markers while Misora Nambara and Keyara Baerga-Plumey added 10 points each.

The Wildcats out-rebounded the Trojans 35-22 in the game with Nevaiah Bell-Tenner grabbing seven caroms to lead the way. C-SC dished out 18 assists as a team with Nambara registering a team-best five helpers.

The Wildcats (5-5) are scheduled to play their final home game before Christmas this Thursday, Dec. 11, against Columbia, (Mo.) College. Tipoff is slated for 6 p.m. at Charles Field House.
