Women's Basketball Loses at Home to Benedictine
The Culver-Stockton women's basketball team was outscored 19-8 in the third quarter and that was the difference in a 60-52 setback to Benedictine College Saturday afternoon at Charles Field House.
The Wildcats trailed 32-30 at the intermission despite spotting the Ravens the first 12 points of the game. However, C-SC outscored the visitors 15-7 the rest of the quarter and then 15-13 in the second quarter to trail by just two at the break.
In the third quarter, Benedictine slightly increases its lead to 37-34 before holding the Wildcats scoreless over the next three minutes. During hat drought, the Ravens went on a 10-0 run to extend their lead to 47-34 and C-SC ever recovered.
Keyara Baerga-Plumey came off the bench to score 11 points to lead the Wildcat offensive attack. Misora Nambara garnered nine points while Avery Oetting and Haley Webb chipped in with eight and seven points, respectively.
Nambara grabbed seven rebounds to lead C-SC in that category while Oetting dished out a team-best five assists.
The Wildcats return to action this Tuesday, Nov. 25, for another Heart of America Athletic Conference game against Central Methodist University. Tipoff is scheduled for a special time of 2 p.m. at Charles Field House.
