Wildcats Lose to Kansas Wesleyan in Four Sets
The Culver-Stockton men's volleyball managed to win just one set in a four-set loss to Kansas Wesleyan University Saturday afternoon in Salina, Kan.
The Wildcats dropped the first two sets before staying alive with a third set victory. However, the Coyotes held off the Wildcats in the fourth set to claim a 25-22, 25-20, 16-25 26-24 Heart of America Athletic Conference victory.
Malachi Gnade led a balanced offensive attack for the Wildcats, garnering a team-high 12 kills in the match. Gnade committed just one error and registered a .440 hitting percentage on 25 attempts.
Henry Reeves chipped in with eight terminations while Zach Kowalewicz and Clyde Harold tallied seven kills each. The Wildcats recorded 52 kills overall and had a .252 team hitting percentage.
Cikeng Lee gathered 10 digs to lead the back row defensively, Gnade and Brooklyn Hollander added eight digs each. Up front, C-SC totaled 16 team blocks led by Kowalewicz with six blocks and Reeves with five blocks.
The Wildcats return home next weekend, Friday and Saturday, March 6-7, for a pair of conference matches. C-SC begins the weekend Friday with a match against Grand View University. First serve is set for 7 p.m. at Charles Field House.
