Wildcats Fall to St. Ambrose for Second Straight Saturday
The Culver-Stockton men's volleyball team was upended by Saint Ambrose (Iowa) University for the second time in as many weeks during the final day of the Heart of America Challenge at the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St,. Louis, Mo., Saturday afternoon.
The Wildcats, who was dispersed by the Bees in three sets last Saturday at the Fighting Bees Invitational, didn't fare any better Saturday, falling 25-16, 25-20, 25-20 in their only match of the day.
The winners held a 42-28 edge in kills and a 5-2 advantage in service aces. Both team recored five team blocks each. The Bees registered a .305 attack percentage while C-SC struggled to just a .145 attack success rate.
Malachi Gnade and Henry Reeves totaled seven kills apiece to lead the Wildcats' offensive attack. Rio Victor added five terminations while Zach Kowalewicz and Clyde Harold contributed four kills each. Kirvan Hughes garnered 21 set assists.
The Wildcats (0-5) are scheduled to make their home debut this Tuesday, Feb. 3, with a match against Westminster College at Charles Field House. First serve is slated for 7 p.m.
