Men's Volleyball Drops Two Matches in 2025 Home Debut
The Culver-Stockton College men's volleyball team opened its home season with pair of matches at Charles Field House Saturday afternoon.
The Wildcats host St. Mary of the Woods (Ind.) and Saint Ambrose (Iowa) in a triangular match. C-SC lost to St. Mary of the Woods in three sets, 25-20, 25-15, 25-21 in it opening match. After St. Mary defeated Saint Ambrose in three sets, the Bees came back and defeated the Wildcats in five sets winning, 25-21, 16-25, 20-25, 25-12, 20-18.
Malachi Gnade totaled a combined 17 kills in the two matches, including 10 in the match with Saint Ambrose. Zach Kowalewicz also had 10 terminations against Saint Ambrose and finished with 15 kills overall.
Clyde Harold registered a team-high 14 kills against Saint Ambrose and had 18 kills overall covering seven sets. Henry Reeves recorded 12 kills in the loss to SAU. Matt Reese garnered 59 total set assists over the two matches, including a team-best 43 in the loss to Saint Ambrose. Reese also totaled 10 digs against the Bees.
C-SC (0-7) begins Heart of America Athletic Conference play this Tuesday, Feb. 11, at home against the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy (UHSP). Game time is slated for 7 p.m. at Charles Field House.
