Junior Delaney Straus of the Culver-Stockton women's cross country team competed in the NAIA Cross Country National Championship Friday morning at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia, Mo.

The 45^th annual NAIA Women's Cross Country National Championship featured a total of 327 runners in the 6-kilometer race and was run in cold, blustery conditions.

Straus, who qualified for the national meet after placing 13th individually at the Heart of America Athletic Conference meet Nov. 9 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, registered a time of 24 minutes exactly to finish 230^th for the Wildcats.

This was Straus' first season competing collegiately in cross country after playing for the women's basketball program her first two seasons. Straus holds the school record in all three distances run by the Wildcats.  

The NAIA Cross Country National Championships officially concluded the 2024 season. The indoor track & field season officially opens on Dec. 6 at the Cornell Winter Classic in Mount Vernon, Iowa.
