Women's Volleyball Pushes MNU in Three-Set Loss

The Culver-Stockton women's volleyball team gave a spirited effort in falling to MidAmerica Nazarene University in three sets Saturday afternoon at Charles Field House.

Playing on back-to-back nights, the Wildcats hung with the Pioneers throughout the first set before falling 25-21. C-SC had its best hitting game of the match at 23 percent in the first set.

However, tired legs started to creep into the C-SC offense in set two and three as the attack percentage went to 12 percent in a 25-21 loss in set two, to just five percent in a 25-20 loss in the final set.

Victoria Pollard led the Wildcat attack with 11 kills on 26 attempts. Pollard committed just three errors for a 31 percent attack rate, which was a team high. Emma Daleen and Zoe Irvin chipped in with seven kills each, while Lauren Bloom had 13 set assists and two service aces.

The Wildcats return to action this Tuesday, Oct. 21, at Missouri Valley College in Marshall, Mo. Game time is slated for 7 p.m. The Vikings defeated the Wildcats three sets to one earlier this season in Canton.
