Netters Can't Solve William Woods in Four Set Loss

The Culver-Stockton women's volleyball team fell to 1-4 in Heart of America Athletic Conference action with a 25-23, 25-18, 15-25, 25-8 setback to William Woods (Mo.) Tuesday night at Anderson Arena in Fulton, Mo.

Victoria Pollard and Zoe Irvin led the Wildcat offensive attack with a combined 21 kills on 61 attempts with only three errors, an attack percentage of .295. Pollard had 12 kills and an attack percentage of .333, while Irvin recorded nine kills with a hitting success rate of .250.

Lael Temple and Lauren Bloom combined for 29 set assists with Temple registering 15 set assists. 

Defensively, the Wildcat placed four players in double figures in digs with Pollard garnering 12 to record another double-double. Jaysie Baez led the Wildcats with 20 digs while Layla Lojas and Bloom had 10 digs each.

C-SC tallied eight team blocks in the match with Faith Hopgood garnering five total blocks with one solo and four block assists. Mikayla Ziemianski had three total blocks with one solo and two block assists.

The Wildcats (5-7 overall) returns to action this Friday, Sept. 19, at Mount Mercy University in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Game time is slated for 7 p.m.
