No. 11 Missouri Baptist spoils Wildcats' Home Opener

Eleventh-ranked Missouri Baptist University spoiled the Culver-Stockton women's volleyball home opener with a a 25-16, 25-19, 25-14 straight set victory Tuesday night at Charles Field House.

The Spartans used a strong service game and a powerful attack at the net to keep the Wildcats winless in Heart of America Athletic Conference action. MBU recorded 10 service aces and held a 39-20 edge in kills.

Zoe Irvin and Victoria Pollard led the Wildcat offensive attack with six terminations each. Three setters combined for 20 set assists with Lauren Bloom registering 12 assists to lead the way. 

The Wildcats will try to earn their first home victory this Thursday, Sept. 11, when the Wildcats host Graceland University at Charles Field House. This match was originally scheduled for Friday, Sept. 12, but was pushed up one day at the request of the Yellowjackets. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
