Bio
Josh Branan took over as the 12th head coach in the history of the women’s volleyball prgram program on Aug. 1, 2025. Additionally, Branan was also named the head coach of the Wildcat eSports program the same day.
Branan began his love for volleyball 31 years ago and played competitively on the Atlanta Juniors travel ball team. In college he became a student assistant at Middle Georgia and then later a student assistant at Valdosta State where he also captained the men's club team.
Branan was most recently the head coach of the men’s volleyball program at Brewton-Parker College in Mount Vernon, Ga. Prior to taking that position, Branan served as the men’s and women’s volleyball coach at Tennessee Wesleyan University in Athens, as well as the director of E-Sports.
Branan go his coaching career started as an assistant at Middle Georgia College in 1996. He has also served as an assistant at Valdosta State University and Clarendon College, as well as head coach at Grace Christian Academy.
Branan earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Valdosta State in 2004 and a master’s degree in Coaching from the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Ky, in 2024.
