Wildcats Drop Final Three Sets in Road Loss to Peru State
The Culver-Stockton College women's volleyball team suffered a four-set loss to Peru State College Tuesday night in Peru, Neb.
The Wildcats came out and captured the first set but couldn't use any momentum from that victory in the next three sets and fell to the Bobcats 22-25, 25-22, 25-17, 25-23.
Addie Force and Victoria Pollard led the offense with nine kills each. Zoe Irvin added eight terminations. Sam Wright and Lauren Bloom garnered 16 set assists each, while Wright totaled three service aces.
C-SC had a strong back row defensive game with Kyla Ellis recording 25 digs and Pollard registering 16 digs. The Wildcats struggled mightily at the net defensively with just one team block. Meanwhile, Peru garnered 8.5 team blocks.
The Wildcats, now 15-13 overall and 7-9 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference, is scheduled to conclude the regular season this Friday and Saturday, Nov. 1-2, beginning Friday night at Central Methodist University in Fayette, Mo. First serve is started for 7 p.m.
On Saturday, C-SC makes the short trip west to Marshall, Mo., to battle Missouri Valley College. That match is set to begin at 2 p.m.
