Women's Volleyball Splits at Ashford Invitational
The Culver-Stockton College women's volleyball team split two matches during the first day of the Ashford Invitational in Clinton, Iowa.
The Wildcats opened the day with a 25-13, 25-20, 25-18 loss to 17th-ranked Bellevue (Neb.) University. C-SC rebounded nicely in its next match of the day with a 25-23, 25-19, 25-13 victory over William Penn (Iowa) University.
In the match with Bellevue, Kamrin Gold paced the offense with 10 kills while Katie Flynn recorded eight terminations. Brooke Carroll garnered 25 set assists. Defensively, Shea Elmore tallied seven digs and Abbie Foster had six digs.
Against William Penn, Gold totaled a team-high 15 kills and 21 digs to lead the Wildcats. Jacklyn Strouse and Ruthie Wheelock garnered eight kills each, while Elmore had seven kills. Carroll totaled 45 set assists while Foster had 14 digs.
The Wildcats, now 9-2 overall, are slated to play two matches Saturday. C-SC is slated to play at 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.
