Women's Track Preps for Heart Championships at Young Classic
The Culver-Stockton women's track and field team prepped for the Heart of America Athletic Conference Championships next week by competing in the Darren Young Classic at Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa, Saturday afternoon.
The Wildcats registered top eight finishes in three events and had two personal best marks in another event during the day.
Kinlie Judd recorded the top finish for the women with a third place ending in the pole vault. Judd garnered a mark of 8 feet, 10 1/4 inches.
Faith Hopgood continues to perform well in the weight throw, finishing sixth overall with a throw of 48 feet, 4 3/4 inches.
The 4x400 relay team of Victoria Pollard, Malia Carmack, Erin Peppler and Samantha Stone placed fifth overall with a time of 4:29.47.
Stone and Peppler also set personal best times in the 800 meter run during the meet. Stone finished with a time of 2:36.16, while Peppler turned in a time of 2:39.09.
The Wildcats are scheduled to compete in the conference championships next Friday and Saturday, Feb. 20-21, at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Mo.
