Women's Track and Field Complete in Bumble Rumble

The Culver-Stockton women's track and field team returned from the semester break and competed in the Bumble Rumble at Saint Ambrose University Saturday afternoon in Davenport, Iowa.

Samantha Stone turned in the best finish for the Wildcats in the 1,000-meter run. Stone completed the distance in 3:23.09, which was good for second place, while teammates Malia Carmack, Erin Peppler and Emma Berry finished third, fourth and fifth, respectively. Carmack recorded a time of 3:36.29, Peppler registered a time of 3:43.39, and Berry had a time of 3:50.43.

In the 5,000-meter run, Berry placed third overall with a time of 21:50.32, while sprinter Emma Smith placed third in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.06. Stone garnered an eighth place finish in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:04.97.

C-SC is scheduled to compete in the Hilltop Invitational next Saturday, Jan. 24, at Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa. First events are slated to begin at 11 a.m.
