Wildcats Secure Home Postseason Game with Victory at UHSP
The Culver-Stockton College women's lacrosse team dominated the second and third quarters to pick up an 11-6 victory over the Health Sciences and Pharmacy (UHSP) Wednesday afternoon at the Lou Fusz sports complex in Creve Coeur, Mo.
The Wildcats outscored the Eutectics 9-3 in the deciding two periods while being outscored 3-2 in the first and fourth periods of the game. C-SC outshot the hosts 17-8 in the middle two quarters and 28-19 overall in the game.
The victory all but secures a home playoff game for the Wildcats when the Heart of America Athletic Conference postseason begins with the quarterfinals on Saturday, April 25. C-SC finishes the regular season with a 5-9 overall record and a 3-3 mark in the conference.
Addison Holm led the offensive attack for the Wildcats with four goals and four assists for eight total points. Holm scored her four goals on four shots on goal and eight shots overall. Holm also led the Wildcats with seven draw controls.
Brookelyn Lindberg chipped in with three goals and one assist while Jacee Grinsteinner added two goals. Peyton Bice and Tennesyn Rohman contributed one goal each.
C-SC was the better team in most statistical categories including draws (12-4), ground balls (25-19), and turnovers (20-23). C-SC was 17-for-21 on clears while the Eutectis were 20-28 overall on clears.
The Wildcats will rest and hopefully get healthy as they await the postseason next week while the rest of the league concludes their regular seasons the rest of this week.
