Culver-Stockton College senior Melanie Sanchez has been named the Heart of America Athletic Conference Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week for her performance in two games last week.

Sanchez, an attacker from Simi Valley, Calif. (Simi Valley HS / William Penn University), tallied 10 goals in two games last week, including a school-record eight goals in a 17-6 victory over the University of Saint Mary on March 23. Sanchez added three assists in that game to post a school-record 11 points overall.  On Saturday, Sanchez completed her week with two more goals in a 17-9 loss to William Penn. For the week, Sanchez registered 19 shots overall, including 18 shots on goal. 

For the season, Sanchez has tallied 16 goals and added seven assists for 23 points.   

The Wildcats are slated to host Missouri Baptist University this Thursday, March 30, at Ellison Poulton Stadium. Opening draw is set for 4 p.m.
