Women's Golf Particpates in Ashford Invitational
The Culver-Stockton College women's golf team closed out the fall portion of its schedule with a fifth place finish at the Ashford Invitational, held Monday and Tuesday at Short Hills Country Club in East Moline, Ill.
The Wildcats shot 421 on day one of the tournament but rebounded with a 393 on the second day of the tournament to finish with an 814. Mount Mercy won the event with a two-day total of 355.
Individually, Emma VanArsdale was the top Wildcats finisher, placing 16th in the 30-player field. She shot 90 during the second round after recording a 100 on the first day to finish with a 190.
Kaitlin Sparrow, Emma Dolbeare and Samantha Heinrich placed 20th, 21st and 23rd, respectively. Sparrow finished with a 104-98-202, Dolbeare finished with a 105-104-209, and Heinrich recorded a 112-101-213 as each Wildcat player shot better the second day than the first round.
