Moore Finishes Second in Collegiate Debut; Wildcats Eighth at Hammer Golden Eagle Invitational
Rachel Moore bowled games of 257 and 219 en route to a 1,005 series to help the Culver-Stockton College women's bowling team to an eighth place finish at the season-opening Hammer Golden Eagle Invitational at Forest Lanes in Rockford, Ill., Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 30-Oct. 1.
Moore, who was participating in her first collegiate bowling event, finished second overall with an average of 201 for five games. Moore was named to the five member all-tournament team.
As a team, the Wildcats garnered 6,598 total pins between the five team games Saturday and the 16 baker games Sunday. C-SC averaged 797.2 pins per game in the five team games while averaging 163.25 pins in the 16 baker games.
In addition to Moore, Madi Shontz finished 31st overall with 808 pins in the five games, averaging 161.8 pins per game. Shontz had a high game of 181. Jasmine Saunders placed 39th overall with an average of 152.8 pins per game. Saunders totaled 769 pins overall and had a high game of 183.
Jersey Lessenger recorded a high game of 181 and finished with 732 total pins, or an average of 146.4 pins pe game. Lessenger finished 48th overall among the 124 players competing. Rilee Allen finished 60th overall with an average of 135.4 per game and a high game of 169.
The Wildcats return to action this Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 7-8, in the Midwest Collegiate Championships, which will be played at the AMF West Lanes in Milwaukee, Wis.
