Wildcats Force 24 Turnovers in Avenging Earlier Loss to William Woods

The Culver-Stockton women's basketball team forced 24 William Woods turnovers en route to its 10 consecutive victory Wednesday night at Charles Field House.

The Wildcats took advantage of the visitors miscues, outscoring the Owls 29-4 on points off turnovers. C -SC led 19-11 after the first period and then pulled away in the second quarter , winning the quarter 21-8 to take a 40-19 lead to the halftime locker room. C-SC forced seven Owl turnovers in the second quarter and 11 total miscues in the first half.

The Wildcat defense shutout the Owls from the 3-point stripe, holding them to 0-for-14 for the game. The only thing that kept WWU around was going 11-for-11 from the free throw line.

Chloe Burnham came off the bench to score 10 of her game-high 15 points in the first half to lead the Wildcat offensive attack. Avery Oetting totaled 10 markers. C-SC had 11 of the 12 players that played score with seven of the 12 netting at least seven points in the contest.

Haley Webb and Misora Nambara led the effort on the glass with six rebounds each. The Wildcats out-rebounded the Owls 36-31 in the game. CSC shot 44 percent from the field while limiting WWU to 37 percent shooting. Allysa O'Conner dished out five assists off the bench to have nearly 25 percent of the 19 assists.

The Wildcats (15-6 overall , 9-4 in the Heart) will travel to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, this Wednesday, Jan. 28, to face Mount Mercy University. Game time is set for 2 p.m.
