Women's Baksetball Cruises to Third Straight Victory
The Culver-Stockton women's basketball team ended its non-conference schedule by cruising to an easy 93-59 victory over the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy (UHSP) Wednesday night in St. Louis, Mo.
The Wildcats shot a season-high 57 percent from the field, making 36 of their 63 attempts overall. C-SC was 10-for-13 (77 percent) in the first quarter and 8-for-16 (50 percent) in the second quarter in building a 49-21 halftime advantage.
C-SC also forced 16 of the 24 Eutectics turnovers in the first half, leading to 16 points in the half and 29 points overall. The Wildcats have won three straight games since fallingto Viterbo in the season-opener. The Wildcats have dominated in their three wins, winning on average by 38 points.
The Wildcats placed five players in double figures with Avery Oetting leading the way with 21 points. Katie Webb 19 markers while Elly Bentley ad 12 points and Misora Nambara 11 points. Addison Newbon came off the bench to chip in with 10 markers.
Oetting also had team-bests with eight assists and three steals while Newbon and Elizabeth Reed had six and four rebounds, respectively.
The Wildcats (3-1) are slated to start the Heart of America Athletic Conference scheduled this Saturday, Nov. 16, against Peru State College. Tipoff is set for 12 p.m. in Peru, Neb.
