Shelsey Stanley Named Women's Basketball Scholar-Athlete
Culver-Stockton College junior Shelsey Stanley has been recognized as a 2014 Daktronics-NAIA Division I Women's Basketball Scholar-Athlete by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics.
Stanley a 5-foot-10 guard from Keokuk, Iowa (Keokuk HS), is an elementary education major who appeared in only nine games this season due to injury. She averaged 7.3 points and 2.1 rebounds per game, averaging 20.9 minutes per contest. She shot 83.3 percent from the free throw line, making 15 of her 18 attempts this season.
One hundred twenty-eight women's basketball players were recipients of the NAIA-Daktronics Scholar-Athlete honor. Student-athletes must have a junior or senior academic standing and maintain a minimum cumulative grade- point-average of 3.50. Transfer student-athletes must attend the nominating institution for one full year before being eligible.
