Shooting Sports Participates in Inaugural Event

The Culver-Stockton shotgun sports team made its debut at the Drury University Panther Classic last weekend in Springfield, Mo.

The Wildcats, with just three members participating, finished eighth out of nine teams with a total of 838 targets. The shooting disciplines used for the meet were Sporting Clays, Skeet, Trap and 5-Stand. Drury captured the team title with a score of 1,591.

Lawren Ruths finished ninth out of 29 shooters in the female division, totaling 284 targets of 350. She recorded 72 in Sporting, 78 in Skeet, 95 in Trap and 39 in 5 Stand.  

James Stutheit placed 46th out of 66 me with a total score of 296 targets out of 350 while Will Owen registered 258 targets among the five disciplines.

Next Up: The Wildcats travel to Bridgeton, Mo., to compete in the Lindenwood Open Sept. 24-25. The event takes place at the Gateway Gun Club.
