C-SC Turns to Jase Dalton to Lead Softball Program
Culver-Stockton College Athletic Director Pat Atwell has announced the appointment of Jason Dalton as Head Softball Coach. Dalton replaces former head coach Rod Radcliffe who retired in May after five seasons with the Wildcats, compiling a 97-151 overall record.
Dalton most recently served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the Culver-Stockton baseball program the last three years.
"We are excited to announce the promotion of Jase Dalton as our new softball coach," said Atwell. "Jase has shown maturity and professionalism working as an assistant with the baseball program the last three seasons. He is looking forward to the opportunity of leading the Wildcat softball program. He will work tirelessly to provide the best collegiate softball experience possible for the young ladies on our team."
Dalton came to Culver-Stockton in 2024 after pitching for the Chicago Dogs of the American Association of Professional Baseball. He attended the University of South Alabama where he played three seasons, winning the Sun Belt Conference Tournament and advancing to the Gainesville (Fla.) Regional in 2021.
"Many male softball coaches made the switch from baseball to softball at some point in their career and Jase has decided that will be his journey as well, stated Atwell. "He comes from a family that has coached and played softball so he is familiar with the game but will be learning the nuances as he goes."
The Wildcats are expected to return seven starters from a team that finished 26-24 overall last season, the first winning campaign since 2019. The 26 victories were the most since they won 32 games in 2019.
