Softball Blanked Twice in Doubleheader Loss to Central Methodist
The Culver-Stockton College softball team was shutout in both games of a Heart of America Athletic Conference doubleheader at Central Methodist University Sunday afternoon in Fayette, Mo.
The Wildcats were limited to three hits in each game as the Eagles posted victories of 9-0 and 3-0.
The highlight for the Wildcats came in the fifth inning of the second game when Kataleena Hunt registered a one-out double. That double was the 47th of Hunt's career, which breaks the school record of 46 career doubles by Cassie Burris '19.
That inning was also the best chance for the Wildcats to score all day as Payton Todd followed with a single to put runners at first and third. However, CMU got out of the jam with a strikeout and a caught stealing.
C-SC will try to snap its four-game losing streak this Tuesday, March 25, when they travel to Fulton, Mo, to battle William Woods University in a Heart twinbill. The first game is stated for 1 p.m.
