The Culver-Stockton softball team began its season with a pair of losses at the Ambrose Dome in Davenport, Iowa, Saturday afternoon.

The Wildcats opened their season with a 10-5 loss to Saint Ambrose University Saturday morning, and then followed that up with a 10-1 setback to Waldorf University in the afternoon.

C-SC managed nine hits in the two losses, including just three safeties in the second game loss to Waldorf. Wildcat pitchers allowed 15 hits and walked 16 batters in the two games.

Against Saint Ambrose, Allie Thompson registered two hits, including a double and a home run, and two runs batted in. Samantha Robles chipped in with a RBI double.

Madison Covey produced the only RBI for the Wildcats in the loss to Waldorf. Covey delivered a RBI single in the second inning to score Mallory Williams with C-SC's only run of the game.

The Wildcats (0-2) are scheduled to play Augustana (Ill.) in a doubleheader Sunday at the Ambrose Dome. The first game is set to start at 9 a.m.
