Dowd, McNamee Set Personal Marks at Indian Hills Invitational
The Culver-Stockton College men's cross country team set two personal marks during the Indian Hills Invitational eight-kilometer race in Ottumwa, Iowa, Friday afternoon.
Kile Dowd and Gannon McNamee recorded personal highs in the race that saw the Wildcats place eighth overall among the 10 teams scoring. C-SC finished with an overall team time of 2:29:37 to finish behind Des Moines Area Community College, which finished with a team time of 2:11:47.
Dowd and McNamee each beat their previous bests at the eight-kilometer distance by 19 seconds. Dowd finished 38th overall with a time of 28:39.7, while McNamee placed 38th overall with a time of 28:43.8. Logan Lucas led all Wildcat runners with a sixth place finish in a time of 26:19.9.
Chase Lake garnered a time of 32:25.1 to finish 63rd overall, while Kenny Tucker finished 66th overall with a time of 33:22.0. Blake Thompson completed the Wildcat grouping with a 73rd place finish and a time of 34:58.0.
The Wildcats are back in action next Saturday, Oct. 19, at the Mikayla Sherril Fall Classic held at the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis, Mo. The men are slated to run at 11:05 a.m.
