Lucas Wins Two Events During Wildcat Invitational

The Culver-Stockton men's track and field team registered 56.5 points to place sixth among 15 teams scoring during the 2026 Wildcat Invitational held at Richeson Track inside Ellison Poulton Stadium Saturday afternoon.

Leading the way for the Wildcats was distance runner Logan Lucas who captured both the 5000-meter and the 10,000-meter runs during the day.

In the 10,000, Lucas set a school and facility record by finishing the 25 lap race in a time of 32:41.35. He lapped the every competitor in the field and won the race by nearly two minutes. His mark is the fifth-best time in the Heart of America Athletic Conference this season. Teammate Shineel Dutt placed third in the 10000 with a time of 37:52.23. Lucas doubled down in the 5000, winning by 16 seconds with a time of 15:50.44.

Elsewhere, Drew Mallett recorded points in two events, the high jump and the javelin. In the high jump, Mallett placed eighth with a mark of 5 feet, 9 1/4 inches, while in the javelin he placed third with a throw of 130 feet, 4 inches.

In Addison to Mallett, Luke Brice also scored points for the Wildcats in the javelin, placing seventh with a throw of 115 feet, 7 inches.

The final athlete to score points was Judah Rivers, who placed fifth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.25 seconds.

C-SC also did well in the relays scoring points in two of them. C-SC finished fourth in the 4x100 with a time of 42.70 seconds, and seventh in the 4x400 relay with a time of 4:02.11.

The Wildcats are slated to compete in the Grand View Relays this Friday, April 24, in Des Moines, Iowa. A select few will compete in the Drake Relays April 22-25 in Des Moines.
