Men's Track and Field Place Seventh at Hilltop Invitational
The Culver-Stockton College men's track and field team recorded 31 team points to place seventh at the Hilltop Invitational hosted by Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa, Saturday afternoon.
The individual finish was recorded by Shivneel Dutt in the 5000-meter run. Dutt completed the race in 18:08.28, which was good for fourth place overall. Dutt also ran in the 3000-meter run and set a personal best time of 10:33.99, which placed him 17th overall.
Ty Kiser placed fifth in the triple jump with a career-best leap of 36 feet, 0 3/4 inches. Drew Mallett placed seventh in the pole vault with a mark of 11 feet, 1 3/4 inches, while Jailan Reynaga placed eight hin the 800-meter run with a time of 2:09.11
In the relays, C-SC placed third in the 1600 sprint medley with a time of 3:45.60, while the 4x400 relay team placed fifth with a time of 3:34.27. In the 4x200 relay, the Wildcats placed fifth and sixth overall with times of 1:41.28 and 1:48.67, respectively.
The Wildcats return to action next Saturday, Jan 31, at the Grinnell Invitational in Grinnell, Iowa. First events are slated to begin at 10 a.m.
