Men's Track Begins Season at Cornell Winter Classic
The Culver-Stockton men's indoor track and field team began the 2025-26 campaign at the Cornell Winter Classic as Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa, Friday night.
The Wildcats registered four event victories and had three athletes record personal highs on the opening night of the season. Overall, C-SC garnered 207 points to finish first in the three-team event. Cornell was second with 131 points while Luther (Iowa) was third with 120 points.
Judah Rivers captured the 400-meter dash and set a personal mark in finishing second in the 60-meter dash. Rivers covered the 400 distance in a time of 51.28 seconds, while recording a personal best of 7.08 seconds in the 60 meter race.
In the mile race, Shivneel Dutt won the race with a time of 5:10.97. Teammate Chase Lake finished second overall and set a personal best time of 5:11.93.
The Wildcats also captured first place in the 4x200 really with a time of 1:34.36.
In the field events, Drew Mallett was the only winner, capturing the pole vault with a mark of 11 feet, 5 3/4 inches. In the weight throw, Jace Bales set a personal high throw of 32 feet, 1 1/2 inches.
The Wildcats will really get into the season next week when they compete in the Finals Week Invitational Friday and Saturday, Dec. 12-13, at Saint Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa. Events begin at 4 p.m. Friday and 12 p.m. on Saturday.
