Jake Persenico netted three goals in the first half and four in the game to lift Clarke University to a 4-0 Heart of America Athletic Conference victory over the Culver-Stockton College men's soccer team Wednesday night at Ellison Poulton Stadium.

Persenico notched a natural hat trick in the first half, scoring three goals in a six minute span to put the Pride comfortably ahead at the intermission. Persenico added his fourth goal in the 80^th minute of the game to complete his career night. Persenico registered eight of the Wildcats 15 shots in the game.

The Wildcats were outshot 15-13 overall but did have two more shots than the Pride in the second half as the hosts showed some desperation trying to climb back into the game. Austin Jones led C-SC with three shots. C-SC and the Pride were also even in corner kicks with six each.

The Wildcats have lost four straight to fall to 1-5 overall and 1-4 in the conference. C-SC has only two goals this season and hasn't scored since netting both goals against William Penn in the second game of the season.

C-SC returns to action this Saturday, Oct. 10, when they host Benedictine College in a Heart contest at Poulton Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
