Men's Soccer Places Three on All-Heart Team

Culver-Stockton College placed three players on the 2015 Heart of America Athletic Conference all-conference men's soccer team, the league announced Wednesday.

Forward Dominic Caruso and midfielder John Hoemeyer were named to the second team, while midfielder Santiago Dirrocco was named to the third team after being a second team pick in 2014.

Caruso, a senior from St, Louis, Mo. (Affton HS) led the Wildcats with 12 goals during the regular season. He added two assists for a team-leading 26 points this season. Four of Caruso's goals were game-winners.

Caruso's 12 goals were tied for second in the Heart behind Missouri Valley's Raul Beneit, who tallied 13 goals. His 26 total points were tied for third in the Heart during the regular season, and his four game-winning goals were tied for second in the Heart.

Hoemeyer, a junior from Florissant, Mo. (Hazelwood West HS), totaled two goals and added two assists from his defensive midfield position. A strong defender, Hoemeyer recorded 10 shots overall, including five on goal.

Dirrocco, a sophomore from Buenos Aries, Argentina (Florence Nightingale HS), earned all-league honors for the second straight season. Dirrocco was tied for second in the Heart with eight assists this season. He added one goal for a total of 10 points overall. Dirrocco registered 44 shots overall, including 22 on goal.

The Wildcats, who concluded the regular season with an 8-9-1 overall record and a 4-5-1 mark in the Heart, are scheduled to face fifth-ranked Missouri Valley College this Friday, Nov. 6, in the Heart Tournament quarterfinals. Game time is slated for 7 p.m. in Marshall, Mo.
