Men's Golf Finishes Ninth at HLGU
The Culver-Stockton College men's golf team registered team scores of 336 and 326 for a 662 total to finish ninth at the Hannibal-LaGrange Invitational Monday and Tuesday at Norwoods Golf Course in Hannibal, Mo.
Des Moines Area Community College won the team championship with scores of 303 and 301 for a 604 total, 58 shots better than the Wildcats.
Individually, Rioth Wort placed 13th overall with a two day total of 13 over 157. He shot scores of 79 and 78, respectively. Brady Walker turned in a good first day with a 3-over 75, which was good for fourth place. However, Walker struggled the second day to a 13-over 85 and finished at 16-over 160 to finish in 18th .
Kenny Tucker improved his positioning from day one to day two to place 17th overall with a score of 17-over 161. Tucker shot 83 the first day and then rallied for a 78 on day two. Austin Strubbe also did better on day two after a rough day one. Strubbe carded a 99 the first day before rebounding for an 85 on day two to finish at 40-over par. Alten Lowman carded a 49-over 203, recording rounds of 104 and 89.
The Wildcats are scheduled to compete in the Clarke University Spring Invitational April 6-7 at Eagle Ridge Golf Resorts in Galena, Ill
