Walker Ties for First in Clarke Fall Classic

The Culver-Stockton men's golf team opened the 20024-25 campaign in the Clarke Fall Classic Tuesday and Wednesday, Sept. 10-11, at Eagle Ridge Resort in Galena, Ill.

C-SC's Brady Walker shot an 8-over 152 over the two-day event to tie for first place and lead the Wildcats to a fourth place finish in the team competition. Walker, who shot 74 and 78 for a 152 score, tied the University of Dubuque's Jayden Nabb for the top spot. However, Nabb earned medalist honors in a scorecard playoff.

As a team, the Wildcats carded scores of 55-over and 54-over, respectively, to finish at 109-over and end 53 strokes behind tournament winner Clarke. 

Brevin Wilson earned a top 15 finish with a 36-hole score of 166 (22-over). He shot 13-over the first day and 9-over in the second round. Austin Strubbe finished 25th overall with a score of 183, while Jacob Thomas recorded a score of 186 and placed 27th overall. Leighton Meeker rounded out the C-SC five some in 30th place after carding a score of 191.

The Wildcats return to action this weekend, Sept. 14-15, at the Monmouth Invitational in Monmouth, Ill. The event, which will be played at Gibson Woods Golf Course, will start at 1 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. Sunday.
