Men's Bowling Places 34th at Hoosier Classic
The Culver-Stockton men's bowling team finished out the regular season by finishing in the top half of the team competition at the Columbia 300 Hoosier Classic in Indianapolis, Ind., over the weekend.
The Wildcats posted a total of 7,470 pins overall to finish 34th among the 78 teams competing in theTier I season finale. C-SC registered 4,772 pins in five team games, rolling a high game of 1,024, and 2,698 pins in 15 baker games, recording three games of 200 or more (236, 203, 203). Wichita State University was the top team with 8,510 total pins.
The Wildcats had four individuals bowl in all five teams games with Levi Staley heading that group with 1,017 total pins, or an average of 203.4. Staley finished 101st overall.
Kody Birmes placed 112th overall with an average of 201.2 pins per game after totaling 1,006 pins in five games, Phillip Heuser and Jake Evitts also bowled in all five games, finishing 185th and 202nd, respectively. Heuser recorded 932 pins while Evitts garnered 913 pins.
C-SC is scheduled to defend its Heart of America Athletic Conference title next weekend, Feb. 21-22, at AMF Town and Country Lanes in Columbia, Mo.
