Men's Bowling Returns to Action with Second, Third Place Finishes at Cougar Clash

The Culver-Stockton men's bowling team returned from the holidays had an impressive first tournament of 2025, placing second on day one and third on day two of the Cougar Clash at AMF Town and Country Lanes in Columbia, Mo,

On the first day, the Wildcats the tournament consisted of 25 baker games and the Wildcats accumulated 4,721 total pins too narrowly finish behind the tournament winner Avila, which had 4,755 total pins.

C-SC registered 10 games with scores of 200 or more pins with a high of 248. They also rolled games of 239, 224, 216 and 214 twice.

On Sunday, the tournament moved to a five-game format and the Wildcats placed third among the six teams competing. C-SC garnered 4,342 totalpins in the five games, averaging 868.4 pins per game. Southeastern (iil.) College won the event with 4,582 total pins. 

Individually, Jake Evitts finished fifth overall to earn his first all-tournament team honor of the season. Evitts knocked down 941 pins in his five games, averaging 188.2 pins per game.Evitts had a high game of 212.

Kody Birmes, Mason Will and Levi Staley all registered top 20 finishes for the Wildcats. Birmes placed 13th overall, averaging 174.2 pins per game. Will finished 14th pverall, totaling 865 pins overall, an average of 173, and Staley placed 16th overall with an average of 166.6.

The Wildcats are slated to return to action at the NAIA Open Feb. 1-2 at Roayl Crest Lanes in Lawrence, Kan.
