Missouri Baptist Hands Wildcats Another Home Loss
Missouri Baptist University held off a second half rally by the Culver-Stockton men's basketball team to post a 65-57 victory over the Wildcats at Charles Field House Wednesday night.
The Wildcats trailed 33-22 at halftime after shooting a lowly 30 percent rom the field. However, they found their stroke in the second half and cut the margin to two at 55-53 on a Ramzi Salem 3-pointer with 3:11 left in the game.
C-SC was unable to get any closer and the Spartans closed out the game on a 10-4 run to send the Wildcats to their sixth straight loss.
Damont Hanton was the only C-SC player to reach double figures, scoring a teams-high 12 points. Hanton, along with Harrison Lewis, each grabbed six rebounds to lead the Wildcats in that category.
Damar Jenkins netted nine points while Travis Green III had eight markers. Lewis, Kamren Wires and Salem each came off the bench to tally seven points.
The Wildcats begin a two-game road trip this Saturday, Jan. 10, with a Heart of America Athletic Conference game at Baker University in Baldwin City, Kan. Tipoff is slated for 2 p.m. at the Collins Center.
