Men's Basketball Drops Fourth Straight at No. 8 Baker
The Culver-Stockton College men's basketball team is still searching for its first victory of 2025 after a 94-68 loss to eighth-ranked Baker University Saturday afternoon at the Collins Center in Baldwin City, Kan.
The loss is the fourth straight since the turn of the calendar to 2025 for the Wildcats, who had won three of their final five games to end the 2024 portion of the schedule.
Both teams attempted 59 shots from the field with Baker making 35 of its attempts for 59 percent. Meanwhile, C-SC connected on just 23 of it shot attempts and finished the day shooting 39 percent from the field.
The home team also took advantage of 14 Wildcat turnovers, scoring 25 points off those miscues, and had a big 46-20 edge with points in the paint.
Ryan Stevenson, who had missed the previous two games with an injury, returned and led the Wildcats with 19 points. Connor Davis contributed 16 points while Martez Rhodes came off the bench and chipped in with 16 markers.
The Wildcats return to action this Wednesday, Jan. 22, with a road game at Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa. Tipoff is slated for 7:30 p.m.
