Cold Second Half Dooms Hoyt Debut

Culver-Stockton College made just six of 23 shots in the second half in dropping it season opener 65-52 to Hannibal-LaGrange College Saturday night in Hannibal.

The loss spoiled the coaching debut of Brad Hoyt, who was coaching in his first game as the Wildcat mentor.

C-SC, which led 29-24 at halftime, was paced by Nate English with 11 points and five rebounds. Freshman Coy Bainter added nine points while senior Austin Archie recorded eight markers.

The Wildcats will try to pick up their first win on Tuesday, Nov. 8, when they travel to Mount Pleasant, Iowa, to battle Iowa Wesleyan College. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
