Fifteen Football Players Named to All-Heart North Division Team
Fifteen members of the Culver-Stockton College football team have earned spots on the 2022 Heart of America Athletic Conference All-North Division Team that was released by the league office Friday afternoon.
Defensively, the Wildcats placed four players on the All-North Division team, including two first team selections. Offensively, C-SC placed six players on the all-conference team with all six players earning second team honors. One other player earned all-conference recognition on special teams, and four others received honorable mention accolades.
Highlighting the defensive selections were first team performers David Hernandez, a safety who was named to the first team for the second straight year, and linebacker Darren Jones.
Named to the defensive second team were defensive ends Hunter Feiden and Kendall Fowler.
Offensively, guard Andrew Rowe was named to all-conference team for the fourth straight year, garnering second team honors. Other offensive players earning second team honors were quarterback Jase Orndorff, wide receiver Slayton Ochoa, running back Demarquez Johnson, tight end Dominic Herrera and tackle Tyrese Miller.
Wide receiver Isaiah Eppinger was also named to the second team as an athlete, covering offensive production and special teams play.
Receiver Mason Hackman, nose guard Noah Dukes, defensive end Dexter Marsh and cornerback Carlos Price were honorable mention selections.
First Team Synopsis
- Hernandez, of Bakersfield, Calif. (Independence HS), led the Heart North with six interceptions this season while also totaling 69 tackles, including 35 solo stops. Hernandez also broke up four passes, forced one fumble and recovered a fumble for the Wildcats.
- Jones, a Phenix City, Ala. (Central HS), led the Wildcats with 78 total tackles in 2022, including 10.5 tackles for loss which was tied for fifth in the North Division. Jones also recorded 2.5 sacks, intercepted a pass and blocked a kick during the season.

2nd team synopsis
- Rowe, of Whittier, Calif. (Bishop Amat Memorial HS), and Miller, of Chicago, Ill. (Hubbard HS / Dodge City CC) helped anchor an offense that gained 332.8 yards per game, including 102 yards per game on the ground.
- Orndorff, of Leesburg, Ga. (Dodge City CC), threw for 2,480 yards and 21 touchdowns in 11 games this season. He completed 221 passes out of 385 attempts and was intercepted just seven times.
- Herrera, of Frisco, Texas (Heritage HS), played in all 11 games and caught 19 passes for 197 yards and two touchdowns during the season.
- Ochoa, of Wichita Falls, Texas (Iowa Park HS), led the Wildcats with 55 receptions, which Was fourth in the North Division, for 608 yards and four touchdowns. Ochoa averaged 11.1 yards per reception and 60.8 yards per game.
- Johnson, of Nashville, Tenn. (Milford Academy), led the Wildcats with 414 yards rushing on 68 attempts, averaging 6.1 yards per carry, He scored two rushing touchdowns. Johnson also caught 15 passes for 103 yards.
- Feiden, of Land O'Lakes, Fla. (Sunlake HS), finished the season with 43 tackles and led the defense with seven sacks, which was third in the North Division. Feiden also had 9.5 tackles for loss, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, two quarterback hurries and a pass breakup.
- Fowler, of Birmingham, Ala. (Gardendale HS), registered 37 total tackles, including 25 solos stops, 10.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks this season. Fowler also recorded two forced fumbles, recovered two fumbles, and had three quarterback hurries.
- Eppinger, of Rex, Ga. (Community Christian), was chosen as an athlete for the second consecutive season. Eppinger recorded 38 receptions for 262 yards and three touchdowns. He also returned 12 kickoffs for a 20.3-yard average.
