Duvendeck Resigns as Wildcat Football Coach

Culver-Stockton College Director of Athletics Pat Atwell announced today that Jeff Duvendeck has resigned his position as football coach of the Wildcats effective Nov. 30.

Duvendeck recently completed his sixth season as head coach and the 2016 team finished with a record of 1-10 overall and 0-5 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference's North Division. Duvendeck's six-year record stands at 13-53, including a 9-37 mark in the conference. He led the Wildcats to a 6-5 overall record in 2014; the program's first winning mark since 2001.

Duvendeck was named the Wildcats' 29th head coach in July of 2011. During his tenure, Duvendeck's teams showed a strong presence on the offensive side of the ball, averaging 320.5 total yards per game. The 2016 team ranked second in the NAIA in passing yardage and third in passing yards per game (352.5 yards/game), and smashed school records for pass completions (326), attempts (533) and yardage (3,877). The Wildcats also set a school record with 30 passing touchdowns this season.

"It is with gratitude that we recognize the unwavering dedication and loyalty Coach Duvendeck has displayed to our institution and our football student-athletes," said Atwell. He consistently represented Culver-Stockton College with class and dignity. He and his staff have devoted countless hours to our student-athletes and the Culver-Stockton community. We thank him and wish him well."

Atwell said Culver-Stockton College would begin a search for a successor immediately.

"We will be seeking a leader whose vision of our football program mirrors the mission of our College, who values development of our student-athletes," he said. The College is committed to develop a structure that gives the football program an opportunity for success."
