Wildcats remain winless after loss to BC
Benedictine College racked up 521 yards total offense in defeating Culver-Stockton 49-7 Saturday afternoon at Larry Wilcox Stadium in Atchison, Kan.
The Ravens amassed 242 of their 521 yards in the first half in building a 21-0 halftime lead. Of those 242 yards, 176 came from the ground attack.
Meanwhile, the Wildcats turned in their second-highest yardage total of the season, finishing with 279 yards overall. Only the 285 yards gained against Avila has been higher for the Wildcats this season.
The Wildcats also rushed for a season-high 153 yards on Saturday. They were led by freshman Justin Hubbard, who had a career-high 90 yards on 18 carries, an average of 5.0 per rush.
Hubbard also scored the Wildcats' only touchdown when he corralled a Jake Harnacke pass and scampered 30 yards on the opening possession of the second half. It was Hubbard's second touchdown this season.
Harnacke, making his first start since the Avila game on Sept. 26, finished with 94 yards passing on 8 of 19 accuracy. He was sacked four times.
Kameron Williams was his main receiver with three receptions for 33 yards. Dontay McGaffie also had two receptions for 35 yards.
Defensively, the Wildcats forced two fumbles on the day. Ryan Stephenson and Nick Hessling recorded the recoveries. Brent Holtrop led all tacklers with 12 stops, while Juan Martin totaled eight tackles.
The Wildcats, now 0-7 overall and in the HAAC, return home to face Graceland University on Saturday, Oct. 31. Game time is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. at Ellison Poulton Stadium. Graceland was a 44-7 loser to Baker University on Saturday.
