Kirk Named First Team, Meny Andujar Honorable Mention to All-Heart Baseball Team

The Culver-Stockton College baseball team placed three players on the Heart of America Athletic Conference All-Conference Baseball Team, the league announced Thursday.

Third baseman Kannon Kirk was named to the first team for his play during the season. First baseman Tristan Meny and outfielder Jaison Andujar were named to the team as honorable mention selections at their respective positions.

Kirk, a junior from Virden, Ill. (North Mac HS), batted a team-high .414 during the regular season. He collected 58 hits, including 11 doubles and two home runs, and registered 21 runs batted in. Kirk's .414 batting average was second in the Heart overall. In 44 regular season games, Kirk scored 31 runs, walked 18 times, and pilfered 10 bases. Kirk recorded a team-high 18 multiple hit games and garnered six multiple RBI games during the season.

Kirk was even better against conference opponents, batting .430 with eight doubles, two home runs and 15 runs batted in. He also scored 24 runs, was issued 16 walks, and stole seven bases in 32 conference games. Kirk's .430 batting average was the best in the league against conference foes.

Meny, a junior from Columbia, Mo. (Battle HS / John Wood CC), batted .399, which was tied for fifth in the league, for the Wildcats this season. In 46 games played, Meny recorded a team-high 61 hits with seven doubles and three home runs. He scored 23 runs and garnered a team-best 35 runs batted in. Meny registered 18 multiple hit games and seven multiple RBI games during the year.

Against league foes, Meny was second in the league with a .425 batting average, collecting five doubles, three home runs, and 23 runs batted in while appearing in 31 of the 32 conference games played by the Wildcats.

Andujar, a junior from West Babylon, N.Y. (Bay Shore HS / Monroe College), played in 47 of the 48 games this season and batted .325 with 11 doubles, four triples, and a team-high eight home runs. He collected 50 hits overall, which was third on the team, scored a team-best 40 runs and had 34 runs batted in. Andujar totaled 12 multiple hit games and had seven multiple RBI games during the season.

In Heart play, Andujar hit .342 with nine doubles, two triples, six home runs, and 24 runs batted in. He scored 28 runs, stole two bases, and was issued seven walks in 32 contests.

The Wildcats concluded the 2024 season with a 15-32-1 overall record and a 12-20 mark in the Heart of America Athletic Conference.
