Wildcats Swept by Baker in Four-Game Series to Start Heart Play

It was deja vu all over again for the Culver-Stockton baseball team at Baker University Sunday afternoon in Baldwin City, Kan.

The Wildcats, who lost to Baker 8-7 in 8 innings and 6-2 Friday to open the four-game series, ended the weekend Sunday with a 4-3, eight inning loss in the first game and a 5-2 setback in the nightcap to fall to 4-14 overall and 0-4 in t he Heart of America Athletic Conference.

Like Friday, C-SC took a two-run lead to the seventh inning but was unable to close it out as the hosts plated two runs in the bottom of the inning and then a run in the eighth to steal the victory.

In game two, like Friday, the Wildcats were limited to four hits in the nightcap and played from behind the entire game as Baker picked up the sweep of the conference-opening series.

C-SC collected eight hits in the first game, including two hits from Collin Hall, Jaison Andujar and Jordan Scott. Hall added a two-run homer in the nightcap for the Wildcats' only runs of the game.

The Wildcats are scheduled to play a non-conference game this Tuesday, March 13, at William Woods University inFulton, Mo. Game time is set for 3 p.m.
