Baseball Comes Up Short Twice in Weekend Series Opener against Indiana-South Bend
The Culver-Stockton baseball team opened a four-game series against the University of Indiana-South Bend at CarShield Field in O'Fallon, Mo., Saturday afternoon.
The Wildcats committed three errors in dropping the opener to the Titans 6-4. IUSB banged out 13 hits and plated eight runs in the sixth inning to earn the sweep by posting a 9-3 victory in the nightcap.
Collin Hall collected three hits and had one run batted in to lead the Wildcat offense in the second game. Alex Harbin added two hits and a RBI.
In the opener, Jordan Scott registered a double and a home run to pace the attack. His home run came in the seventh inning and brought C-SC to within 6-4.
The Wildcats (3-5) and Titans conclude the series Sunday with another doubleheader at CarShield Field. The first pitch for game one is set for 12 p.m.
