The Culver-Stockton College bowling teams opened their respective seasons at the Midwest Collegiate Challenge at Bowlero Lanes in Wauwatosa, Wis.
The women's team finished the weekend by placing 22nd out of 32 teams in the field. The Wildcats totaled 7,690 overall. C-SC started Sunday in 20th place after recording 5145 pins through Saturday. Saint Ambrose (Iowa) won the event with 9,102 pins.
Cheyenne Bequette led the Wildcats individually with a 48th place finish. Bequette totaled 1,117 pins in six team games Saturday, including a game of 214. Cheyenne Roberts finished 58th overall with 1,080 pins in five team games. Roberts rolled a high game of 223.
Meanwhile, the men's team placed 35th out of 40 teams in the men's field. The Wildcats, who began the baker game portion of the tournament Sunday in 34th place with 5,359 pins, ended the tournament with 8,199 pins. Calumet College of St. Joseph (Ind.) won the men's tourament with 10,050 pins.
Joey Krzywonos led the men's effort with a 47th place finish in the tournament. Krzywonos garnered 1,253 pins in six team games and rolled a single-game high of 254. Austin Curttright also had a 200 game or better with a 214 game in the men's competition.
Both teams return to action at the Andy B's Baker Challenge Oct. 21-22 in Springfield, Mo.
