Baker University scored five unanswered goals in defeating the Culver-Stockton College men's soccer team 5-2 in Heart of America Athletic Conference action Saturday night at NX Level Field.
The Wildcats took a 1-0 lead on sixth-ranked Baker in the 34th minute when Javier Todtenbier-Magallon converted a penalty kick for his fifth goal of the season.
However, the visitors didn't waste any time tying the match as Jack Adamson found the back of the net about 90 seconds later to tie the game. Adamson added his second goal of the game in the 41st minute to send Baker to halftime with a 2-1 lead.
Baker added its third goal in the 53rd minute when Blake Levine picked up a loose ball after a throw in from Jordan Evans and beat Wildcat goalkeeper Nicholas Luciani. Levine added his fourth goal of the season and second of the game in the 81st minute. Levine ended the game with two goals and two assists.
Baker's Austin Halsey netted the fifth goal of the game in the 83rd minute before Todtenbier-Magallon scored on a header after taking a pass from Pierce Robinson on a re-start in the 89th minute of the game. It was Todtenbier-Magallon's sixth goal of the season.
C-SC played with nationally-ranked Baker, out-shooting them 11-10 in the game and holding a 5-3 edge in corner kicks. However, the visitors put six of their 10 shots on target, scoring five of them.
The Wildcats, now 4-5-3 overall and 2-4-0 in the Heart will complete a five-game homestand with a match against Avila University this Wednesday, Oct. 11, at NX Level Field, Game time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
